Just to clear things up, Lake Michigan did not conduct any interviews over the radio waves as the title of this blog suggests.  But a representative spoke on behalf of these magnificent bodies of water that desperately need our help.

Earlier this year, Melanie Napoleon, Director of Great Lakes conservation, spoke with Karen Williams of Clear Channel radio WNUA.  The two ladies chatted about the Great Lakes and why it is important to protect this wonderful natural resource.

Great Lakes Fish Fry

Good news for those who enjoy a good friday-night fish fry; Shedd's Right Bite program now includes research on Great Lakes fish!  For the first time ever, Shedd Aquarium and Monteray Bay Aquarium collaborated with commercial fisheries around the Great Lakes to determine which fisheries are sustainable and healthy for consumption. 

The new research shows that yellow perch, the fish most commonly used for a friday-night fish fry, is a "best choice!"  This means eating yellow perch is healthy for you and healthy for the Great Lakes!  Click here to learn more about this exciting new research and to download your own Right Bite card.
